Hey. I'm Jason!
A Fresh Face to Clean-Up SIA!
I believe that our flight careers should be more than just a job;
it should be a time of growth, experiences, and overall well-being.
As your representative, my focus will be on two key pillars:
Quality of Life and a Livable Wage.
Firstly, quality of life is paramount in ensuring a positive and enriching work life balance.
I will strive to improve:
Reserve and Line holder schedules,
Hotel Accommodations,
Commuter Accessibility,
and Advocating for Mental Health Support services.
I believe that a nurturing environment fosters success, and I will work tirelessly to enhance our flight attendant lifestyle to make it vibrant, inclusive, and enjoyable for everyone.
Secondly, a livable wage is a fundamental right for every flight attendant. I understand the financial burdens many of us face while pursuing our careers in the sky.
As your SIA representative, I will collaborate with the administration to explore opportunities to increase:
401k employer match,
per-diem rates
and bonus incentives.
I will also fight for
increased wages for all employees,
ensuring that everyone is compensated fairly for their contributions to the company.
But this campaign isn't just about me - it's about all of us.
I promise to be an approachable and attentive representative, actively seeking your feedback and concerns. Your voices matter, and I will be a strong advocate for your needs and desires.
Together, we can create a thriving Skywest environment that prioritizes the well-being of each flight attendant and ensures that no one is left behind.
I firmly believe that when we come together, we can achieve incredible things, and I humbly ask for your support in this endeavor.
So, when it comes time to cast your vote, I hope you'll remember the passion and commitment I bring to the table.
Let's make our flying experiences one we can look back on with pride and joy.
Thank you for considering me as your SIA representative, and I look forward to serving each and every one of you with dedication and enthusiasm.
I started my flight attendant career at Skywest on July 26, 2016. When I arrived, I remember seeing familiar faces from my group interview in Los Ángeles. Those thirty days in Salt Lake City felt like they flew by. It was rough at times, but not a day goes by that I don’t smile when I look back at those memories.
From a group of about 60, 48 or us made it to graduation; 7 of us were assigned MSP, which also happened to be my 7th choice. I had never been to Minneapolis, but was ready for a change from my LA life. However, I wasn’t ready for those Minne winters.
I was the plug in MSP for the longest time because DTW just opened. I was working trip after trip and always being called on my reserve days. I dreaded the calls from crew support knowing I only had two hours to race to the airport. Probation was a real mental and emotional ride.
After my first CQ, I transferred to ATL for a change of scenery. For 2 years straight I would work the 200 because I didn’t want to be commuting from Hub to Hub. However, those 2 years were rough with five leg days, no APU, and Atlanta ground stops.
I transferred to LGA cause I wanted to work flights on only the 175. I was number 15 or so, which allowed me to get all the trips I wanted with long overnights to fun cities with no more than two or three legs. I basically lived at the airport, meeting amazing new hires and traveling all the time. I absolutely loved it. Then the pandemic hit and COVID changed the game completely.
After LGA and ATL closed, I was uncertain what was going to happen, so I took the voluntary leave and waited back home in Atlanta for the world to heal.
When we were called back to fly, I decided to transfer to ORD, because I heard the commute would be easier than MSP. I enjoyed the variety of flying and those American benefits. It was good for awhile but then I got tired of what felt like a second job to get home.
Thankfully, ATL reopened again. As an ATL based flight attendant, it’s like being on a deserted island at the edge of the Skywest arena. Therefore, I want to advocate for all flight attendants to have a voice regardless of who they are or where they’re based.
Over the last seven years during my flight experience at Skywest, I’ve seen the good, the bad, and the ugly. We need what is best for everyone within the company and for everyone to be proud of their time in the skies.
I am a grateful human being overcoming the pitfalls of the world we live in.
My passions of film, food and flying have been essential to my entire existence.
As an adopted child born in the Philippines and flown across the world, I have always had a hungry appetite for silver screen adventures and experiences.
I journey through life like a tourist, seeing shapes in cloud formations and learning as if I were to live forever.
When I’m not 35,000 feet in the air, I enjoy the creature comforts of home with my recreational hobbies.
I’m a flavorful writer, an intermediate tennis player, a nurturing plant father, an apprentice seamstress, a kickstarter coder and an avid Lego builder.
I maintain balance between my wallflower imagination and my exuberant charisma.
The fellowship of individuals I surround myself with appreciate lively Sunday brunch, captivating live events, unambitious bowling, delightful nature excursions and amusing board games.
I am thankful for all of life's opportunities and the people who have journeyed along my path.
